THE RED GATE
Inspired by Ultima VII. This is your first adventure on our shard.
A stranger in a strange land. A smiling cult. A red gate that should not exist. And a voice in the dark that knows your name.

In Ultima Online there are no classes. You become whatever you practice, and you can mix them. Tap a card to flip it over and see how it works.
Five questions. One destiny. Probably.
Plant a seed in a pot of dirt or a garden bed at your house. Visit it once a day: water it, and treat bugs or fungus with the right potion. It grows a stage each day for about a week.
Then the fun part: cross-pollinate flowers to breed new colors. Red and blue make purple. Lucky gardeners get rare bright, black or white blooms that collectors go wild for.
The farms outside Britain, Yew and other towns grow cotton, flax, wheat, carrots, onions, cabbage, lettuce and pumpkins. Double-click to pick. Cotton and flax become thread for a tailor. Wheat becomes flour, then bread.
Shear sheep for wool (it grows back). Keep a beehive for honey and beeswax. Tame a horse, a cow, a pack llama to carry your stuff, or eventually a dragon.
Fix what's wrong, then end the day. Keep the water in the middle.
Cheat sheet: bugs → poison potion. Fungus → cure potion. Sickly → heal potion. Real potions come from Alchemy, so gardeners and alchemists make great partners.
Crafters gather, refine and build, then sell from a shop in their own house. Two secrets: leather goods are made with Tailoring, and jewelry is made with Tinkering.
You get 700 skill points total (seven skills at 100, called Grandmaster). Load a hero from the cards or build your own. It saves in this browser.
Tick them off as you do them on your first day.
Words the old-timers use, translated.
